Jaipur Rugs partners with Richard Hutten at Milan’s Salone del Mobile

Luxury home textile brand Jaipur Rugs launched a collaborative collection with Dutch designer Richard Hutten at this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italy. Titled ‘Playing with Tradition’, the collection reinterprets classical rug design with vibrant colourways, three-dimensional textures, and whimsical motifs inspired by India’s Holi festival.

Unveiled alongside three additional collections with Tatiana de Nicolay, Peter D’Ascoli, and Vimar 1991, the showcase highlights Jaipur Rugs’ focus on blending traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. “This year’s collection is a true celebration of our commitment to innovation and craftsmanship,” said Jaipur Rugs’ director Rutvi Chaudhary in a press release. “Showcasing these collections at Salone del Mobile, Milano provides a global platform to connect with design enthusiasts from all over the world.”

Hutten’s designs draw on playful themes such as silent film comedy and feature hand-knotted wool pieces that aim to preserve heritage through a contemporary lens. Other featured collections include Tatiana de Nicolay’s ‘Jardins du Monde’, which references historic gardens, Peter D’Ascoli’s ‘Gilded Age’, inspired by 19th-century Paris, and the ‘Atelier Collection’ by Vimar 1991, characterised by couture-inspired black-and-white motifs.

All collections are produced using ethical practices, with Jaipur Rugs reaffirming its commitment to fair wages, artisan welfare, and sustainable materials, the business announced. The full range is now available at Jaipur Rugs’ flagship stores and select global retail partners.
