Zepto elevates Nikhil Mittal as chief technology officer

Zepto, a quick-commerce platform has elevated Nikhil Mittal from senior vice president of engineering to the position of chief technology officer (CTO). He will report to co-founder Kaivalya Vohra.

In his new role, Mittal will head an over 200-member engineering team and be responsible for scaling the organisation.

Additionally, he will also be handling all verticals of engineering that include customer facing, platforms and supply chain.

Commenting on the elevation, Aadit Palicha, co-founder CEO of Zepto in a statement said, “Over the last two and a half years, we have built up one of the highest performing engineering teams in the country, in large part due to Nikhil. He has put us in a position where we have been able to scale our technology infrastructure, despite having limited resources.”

Nikhil Mittal added, “I joined Zepto on Day 1 and had the privilege of seeing this company scale from 0 to thousands of crores in just around 2 years. That being said, it still feels like Day 1 and I couldn’t be more excited to contribute to building Zepto into a generational company.”

Kailvalya Vohra along with Aadit Palicha founded Zepto as Kiranakart during the pandemic in 2020. It competes with Zomato-owned Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Reliance-funded Dunzo and Tata’s Bigbasket.
