The event will also feature labels including The Burlap People, Olio, Kichu, Bongchie, Naz, Chindy, Dirty Hands, and Seed Store along with music and refreshments. With product categories ranging from handloom textiles to jewellery, the event aims to cater to the metro’s young fashion enthusiasts and ensable them to discover new brands.
“Ikat has a rhythm, It’s chaotic and controlled, personal and punk,” said The Ikat Story’s founder Chandni Sareen in a press release. “That’s why it resonates- it mirrors our lives.”
The Ikat Story aims to reimagine the traditional Ikat weave, which is notably dyed before it is woven. One panel of Ikat can take between seven to 21 days to weave and the brand works with artisans from Odisha and Andhra to create its products.
