In a move to institutionalise its merchandising and sales processes, Sai Silks Kalamandir has developed in-house IT solutions and added 100 merchandising experts, the brand announced in a press release on January 29. The system captures 25 nuanced aspects of each of the brand’s sarees and is designed to streamline the order process.

“The technology deployed now is custom made, tailored based on the requirements of the business on the supply side as well as on the sale side,” said Sai Silks Kalamandir’s managing director Prasad Chalavadi in a press release. “We have built custom reporting layers to fetch data whenever we need  and however we need to run the reports effectively. This integration of systems has empowered us with regular dashboard analysis, allowing us to make informed decisions and strategically drive the company forward.”

Sai Silks Kalamandir recently launched on the stock exchanges and opened its 58th store to date. The brand plans to open 10 stores a year for the foreseeable future. Since its initial public offering, the brand has already opened four stores, according to its press release.

The business operates through the brands Kalamandir, Mandir, Varamahalakshmi Silks, and KLM Fashion Mall and caters to men, women, and children. Sai Silks Kalamandir reported Rs 1,351 crore in sales with profits after tax totalling Rs 97.6 crore in the 2023 financial year.
