Orioles manager Brandon Hyde was ejected in the fifth inning of Wednesday night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers for arguing balls and strikes.

Home-plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt tossed Hyde after Ryan O’Hearn struck out looking with one out in the fifth inning as the Orioles trailed 4-0.

Hyde appeared to chirp at Wendelstedt from the dugout after O’Hearn was rung up. After he was ejected, Hyde went out to home plate to argue with the 25-year veteran umpire, who received criticism for his strike zone in Friday’s game between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. The low-and-in cutter that O’Hearn struck out on was charted as a strike on Baseball Savant.

The ejection is Hyde’s second of the season; the first was April 10 against the Oakland Athletics after center fielder Cedric Mullins was tossed. Hyde has been ejected 11 times in his five years as Orioles manager
