Morning fog to clear for evening thunderstorms

Patchy fog that moved into metro Denver overnight is expected to clear this morning, making way for mostly sunny conditions before afternoon and evening thunderstorms roll in, according to the National Weather Service.
Some storms could produce quarter-sized hail, winds up to 60 mph and heavy rainfall, NWS tweeted Friday morning.

Meteorologists estimated the likelihood of rain in Denver at 20% between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., with a high of 84 degrees that will cool to 61 degrees in the evening.
Following Friday’s storms, NWS meteorologists said temperatures will increase again this weekend and next week, reaching the upper 90s Sunday and Monday.
Meteorologists said the chance for thunderstorms will be low through Monday but moisture increases Tuesday will bring a better chance for showers and storms through Thursday.
Currently, Denver and surrounding areas are under an Air Quality Alert. Light winds, along with hot and sunny conditions, this morning, will allow Ozone to reach the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” level.
