The International Fashion Design Council has partnered with Global India Couture Week to announce its upcoming runway show which will take place in Jaipur this February. The event will showcase an array of Indian brands and recently held a Jaipur launch event to unveil the dates and a model audition to scout talent for the runway.
“The Jaipur event marks the initial phase of raising awareness for the promotion of sustainable fashion,” said the GICW’s managing director Satyajit Mohanty in a press release. The fashion event will run from February 10 to 11 at the Diggi Palace and Teela – The Glamping Resort in Jaipur in association with IFDC and Black Page Fashion.
For its upcoming season, GICW aims to bring together both established brands and up and coming designers to showcase desi design talent. Over 50 models from cities including Jaipur, Gurugram, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune attended the model auditions and the event is also designed to help models to boost their fashion careers.
“This initiative will be further amplified on a broader scale in the upcoming months,” said GICW’s director of operations Sidharrth Behera. “India has consistently championed sustainable fashion, and I am confident that with this endeavour, it will ascend to unprecedented heights.”
The fourth season of GICW featured a presentation by designer Neeta Lulla featuring actor Palak Tiwari as showstopper. The success of its fourth season paved the way for its upcoming show to take place in Jaipur, according to GICW.
