The Mets acquired right-handers Trevor Gott and Chris Flexen in a deal with the Seattle Mariners Monday, the team announced. In return, the Mariners received rookie left-hander Zach Muckenhirn.

Gott will be the only addition to the Mets’ bullpen, as the team designated Flexen for assignment. Flexen, who was owed $8 million this season, was designated for assignment by the Mariners last week. The Mets are now responsible for the $4 million left on the former Met’s contract.

Gott joins the Mets after appearing in 30 games this season. The reliever is 0-3 with a 4.03 ERA in 29 innings of work. Gott has pitched for eight major league teams in eight seasons and has a 16-13 overall record with a 4.70 ERA.

Muckenhirn became the first player from the University of North Dakota to reach the majors after the Mets picked up his contract on May 1. He appeared in just three games this season, totaling a 6.00 ERA in six innings of work.

The Mets also announced that the team transferred right-hander Edwin Uceta to the 60-day injured list. Uceta underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee in June.
