“India Fashion Awards is a movement that aims to change the dynamics of the fashion industry,” said India Fashion Awards’ founder Sanjay Nigam in a press release on February 2. “We plan to bring together every individual from the fashion fraternity transcending their distinct roles in the entire ecosystem, along with the ‘farm to fashion’ approach which talks about adding value in each step of the process– reflecting the true essence of sustainability.”

The event will take place at Mumbai’s St Regis Hotel with the theme of ‘Fashion for Good’, in partnership with Wion. Along with focusing on designers and models who have helped to shape the Indian fashion industry, the event will also celebrate show directors, stylists, makeup artists, backstage managers, and all the other stakeholders in the sector.

The India Fashion Awards is designed to promote innovation in Indian fashion and will feature over 30 categories of awards. These include designer of the year, fashion influencer of the year, model of the year, and fashion stylist of the year among others. A jury of fashion personalities will preside over the awards ceremony including Rochelle Pinto, Raghavendra Rathore, Aditi Srivastava, and Lubna Adam.
