GJEPC joins forces with Ebay, DHL for e-commerce seminar

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council joined forces with online marketplace Ebay and logistics business DHL to hold an industry focused seminar in Mumbai. The event was designed to promote the use of e-commerce for growth in the fine jewellery industry.

The seminar took place at the Bharat Diamond Bourse and brought together a group of members of the gem and jewellery industry, the GJEPC announced on its website. The Bharat Diamond Bourse’s president Anoop Mehta took the occasion to highlight the importance of e-commerce in global trade and encourage jewellers to harness international online platforms to boost their exports. The GJEPC’s Rajasthan regional director Nitin Khandelwaal also addressed the crowd and said that e-commerce is not just vital for growth, but also for maintaining business stability in the current economy. 
 
Representatives from Ebay conducted a presentation and detailed the support the platform offers to its sellers, including with creating seller accounts, uploading listings, and marketing to global audiences. Ebay connects business in more than 190 countries and territories, according to the representatives. The business has recently been focusing on the Indian market, seeing strong potential in bringing fashion and lifestyle goods made in India to global audiences. 

DHL representatives shared insights on logistics for e-commerce orders. The business detailed its activities in the global e-commerce landscape and explained its international shipping processes.
