Gillette India Ltd reported a 40 percent rise in profit to Rs 104 crore ($13 million) for the second quarter ended December 2023, as against Rs 74 crore in the year-ago period.

The company, which follows the July-June financial year posted a 3 percent rise in revenue Rs 639 crore during the quarter, as against Rs 619 crore posted in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal year.

The grooming segment contributed Rs 514 crore to the overall revenue while the oral segment revenue stood at Rs 125 crore.

Gillette total expenses declined by 1 percent to Rs 508 crore in the December quarter.

Commenting on the Q2 results, Gillette in its earnings statement said, “Revenue was driven by a robust portfolio, superior retail execution and strong brand fundamentals. The profit growth of around 40 percent was largely driven by productivity interventions, product price mix and moderating cost inflation.”

Gillette India is one of the leading fast-moving consumer goods firms in India with a strong presence in the grooming and oral care segment.
