Armed man shot by officer

An armed man was shot by a Northglenn officer early Saturday morning, police said.
Officers responded just before midnight to the area of Fowler Drive and Humboldt Street on a report of an “unwanted party,” the Northglenn Police Department said in a 4:29 a.m. Saturday tweet.
Police encountered a man with a firearm, just after midnight, and an officer shot him. The man was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
The police shooting is being investigated by the 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team. The officer who fired was uninjured and has been placed on paid administrative leave per department policy and pending the ongoing investigation. Further details on the shooting were not released on Saturday.
