Texworld Evolution changes its name and launches its sustainable signage range

Messe Frankfurt’s Texworld Evolution event, held in Paris and New York, is to become Texworld Apparel Sourcing. The name change reflects the growing importance of Apparel Sourcing’s range of finished products at the event, which is also adopting the Econogy programme to highlight responsible materials and products within its offering.
The Texworld Evolution brand was adopted in September 2020, to replace the umbrella name “Fairyland for Fashion”, which previously referred to the combined offerings of Texworld and Apparel Sourcing, including the Leatherworld and Texworld Denim leather and denim events. The “Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris” name is accompanied by two slogans: “Weaving the Future” and “Sourcing, Business, Solutions”.
“This combination, which is not just semantic, reflects the changes we are seeing in fashion sourcing,” explains Frédéric Bougeard, president of Messe Frankfurt France. “A growing number of buyers want to secure their supplies by selecting and sourcing materials, of course, but also by buying directly the finished products that will complement their collections or range extensions. The new name reflects these transformations and reinforces our positioning on service.”
Founded in 2011, Apparel Sourcing is an event dedicated to garments and other finished products for the clothing industry. The event is a joint venture between Messe Frankfurt and CCPIT-tex, the Chinese sub-council for the textile industry.
This announcement comes at the same time as the deployment of a new pictogram at the event. Displayed on the programme and on the front of stands, it shows a growth graph in the shape of a leaf against a green background. The accompanying Econogy label designates responsible claims reported by exhibitors and third-parties verified by CSI.
The scheme was set up by Texpertise, Messe Frankfurt’s textile business network, which will be rolling it out at the organiser’s various trade fairs. Next month, it will be used at Intertextile and Yarn Expo in Shanghai, as well as at the Kingpins denim events, Neonyt and AllfashionSourcing.
“We had different initiatives and different signage at our trade fairs. Now that we have more than 50 textile trade fairs, we needed to coordinate our expertise,” says Claudia Franz, director of brands and textile and clothing contracts at Messe Frankfurt. “Exhibitors and buyers want to be more transparent. This signage is an opportunity for our professionals to highlight this aspect of their offer.”
These announcements came on the first day of the Paris edition of Texworld and Apparel Sourcing. The show is being held for the second time at Porte de Versailles, this time in Halls 7.2 and 7.3. On these two floors, Apparel Sourcing’s range of finished products occupies a third of the exhibition space. All this in a particularly flowery setting, where the professionals, welcomed by a water curtain waterfall, flocked in large numbers for the launch of the four-day show.
