NIF Global celebrates student design at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI
NIF Global celebrated emerging design talent at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India as students from its Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Indore, and Jaipur campuses presented collections at ‘NIF Global – The Runway show.’

Kritika Kachhara and Shruti Kotecha from NIF Global Ghatkopar, Mumbai, explored urban nomadism at the showcase with collection ‘Stitched in Motion,’ the event organisers announced in a press release. The collection featured Sashiko embroidery forming grids, bricks, and waves on jute-khadi fabric in a neutral palette. Androgynous silhouettes mixed comfort with self-expression to create contemporary functional fashion.
From NIF Global Gandhinagar, Aanya Mutta and Krishna Thacker unveiled ‘Arctic Voyage,’ inspired by the bird the Arctic Tern. The collection, crafted in breathable cotton linen, mirrored the bird’s adaptability with a monochromatic palette of white, black, and grey, accented by red. Pintucks, pleats, and panelling lent structure to the garments. Bollywood star Nusrat Bharucha walked as the collection’s showstopper wearing a cropped jacket, corset, wide-leg trousers, and a layered skirt.
Bharti Goyal and Himanshi Garg of NIF Global Gurugram looked to Zaha Hadid for ‘Shift,’ working with TPU, flannel, polyknit, and PVC. Neon thread tufting and Pantone shades of cherry, lacquer, retro blue, and beige highlighted the collection’s multifunctional, transformative design elements.
Indore-based Namrata Agrawal and Ankita Tiwari presented ‘Nomadic By Nature,’ a travel-inspired line in terry rayon Lycra, chosen for its wrinkle-resistant and breathable properties. Earthy tones of sand, deep green, brown, and rust were complemented by iridescent PVC accents, creating a sleek yet dynamic aesthetic.
Jaipur’s Dhanishta Soni blended hipster and hippie influences in ‘Cosmo Sters,’ combining suede and flannel with weaving, block printing, and floral screen prints. Detachable silhouettes reflected urban versatility, making the collection adaptable from day to night.
The showcase was designed to reinforce NIF Global’s commitment to fostering design innovation, preparing students for the evolving Indian fashion industry. Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India runs from March 26 to 30 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
