The body of a medically at-risk man who went missing at the Harmony Golf Club in Timnath has been found dead in a canal after a search that included the deployment of a water rescue team, dogs, and an aerial drone, Larimer County Sheriff officials said Thursday morning.
Searchers found the man’s body about 9:42 p.m. Wednesday, the officials said, declining to reveal his age or identity.
His golf clubs and cart were abandoned near an irrigation canal and dispatchers received a phone call from the golf course. The search began around 2:20 p.m. A multi-agency team focused on the canal near Bussgrove Road and Bidens Gate. The man was wearing a purple shirt and gold pants, authorities said at the time.
“We don’t believe there were suspicious circumstances,” sheriff’s department spokesperson Ali Adams said.
Given the proximity of the golf cart to a canal, @poudrefire and Larimer County Dive Rescue were called in to aid the search efforts.
Unfortunately, the missing golfer was later located deceased in the area. Presently, no suspicious circumstances are suspected. (3/4)
