Fine jewellery brand Joyalukkas’ chairman Joy Alukkas was honoured for his contributions to India’s gem and jewellery industry at the India International Jewellery Show Signature’s 2024 ‘Hall of Fame’ industry awards.

“Joyalukkas Group is proud to announce that our chairman, Joy Alukkas, was honoured at IIJS Signature 2024 Hall of Fame for his significant contributions to the gems and jewellery sector,” announced Joyalukkas on Facebook. “This accolade is a testament to our enduring impact and commitment to the industry.”
 
The award ceremony took place as part of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s IIJS Signature trade show. The event brought together jewellery manufacturers and Indian and international retailers, wholesalers, and buyers in Mumbai. 

Joyalukkas’ chairman Joy Alukkas was named as the 50th richest Indian and wealthiest jeweller in the country on Forbes’ ‘India’s 100 Richest list for 2023, Retail Jeweller reported. Alukkas was placed 69th in Forbes’ 2022 list with a net worth of $3.1 billion, moving up 19 places in 2023 with a net worth of $4.4 billion. 
 
Joyalukkas retails across 11 countries and counts 140 stores, of which 85 are located in India. The business also has a brick-and-mortar presence in the US, UK, Middle East, Malaysia, and Singapore.
