GJEPC brings together over 800 Bengali artisans for support seminar

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council brought together over 800 artisans from Bengal for an industry seminar at Varachha in Surat. The event was designed to promote support services for the sector.

Assistant labour commissioner S S Dubey attended the seminar as chief guest, the GJEPC announced on its website. Other speakers included NJ Finance’s Jignesh Desai, the Savani Foundation’s Sohail Savani, and Nimesh Ramoliya, a doctor at Radha Hospital. The ‘Ratnakalakar Samriddhi Samarambh’ seminar examined how a systematic investment plan can be utilised to grow a business and factors to consider before taking loans. 
 
The GJEPC’s regional chairman for Gujarat Vijay Mangukiya shared information about the Parichay Card scheme which offers a free medical policy to support artisans. By sharing information about the various government schemes available to artisans, the GJEPC aims to improve their quality of life and encourage them to stay in the industry. 

Doctor Nimesh Ramoliya shared advice on maintaining health while taking part in jewellery manufacturing work, which can be physically taxing. The seminar received support from institutions including the Indian Diamond Institute, Surat Diamond Association, Surat Jewelry Manufacturers Association, Ratnakalakar Vikas Sangh, Diamond Worker Union Gujarat, and Bengali Manufacturers Welfare Association.
