More than 500 flights have been delayed at Denver International Airport on Monday due to thunderstorms across the Front Range.
Twenty-seven flights have already been canceled, according to FlightAware. Southwest has accounted for one-third of the 550 delayed flights.
The storm system prompted the National Weather Service in Boulder to issue a severe thunderstorm warning and flood advisory for Boulder County. That area can expect quarter-size hail, wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and likely street flooding in south Boulder.
Boulder’s mayor, Aaron Brockett, tweeted video of a central Boulder street covered in hail, with water flowing freely down the road.
“Stay safe out there folks,” he said.
