CMAI launches Su.Re website as sustainable fashion directory
The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India has launched its ‘Su.Re’ website as a dedicated sustainable fashion directory, aiming to support the industry’s shift towards responsible sourcing and promote eco-friendly practices.

The new Su.Re website is designed to serve as a resource hub for fashion businesses, providing educational materials, industry insights, and collaborative opportunities for stakeholders, manufacturers, and brands, Just Style reported. The platform will feature news articles and case studies to share best practices and advancements in sustainability.
Alongside the website, the CMAI has unveiled the Su.Re Sustainable Supply Chain Directory, an open-source database featuring over 600 verified suppliers. The directory covers various segments, including fabric production, recycling, sustainable packaging, and certification bodies. Developed in partnership with the Centre for Environment Education and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability, it aims to facilitate innovation and simplify access to sustainable sourcing.
By connecting brands with vendors specialising in eco-friendly materials and manufacturing processes, the directory promotes transparency and collaboration within the sector, according to the CMAI. This is expected to play a key role as India’s sustainable fashion market grows from Rs 27 billion in the 2024 financial year to an estimated Rs 250 billion by the 2030 fiscal year. The Su.Re movement, launched by CMAI in collaboration with Reliance Brands Limited and endorsed by the United Nations in India, has been advocating for sustainability in fashion since 2019.
