Brakebush Brothers buys Lake Foods

WESTFIELD, WIS. — Brakebush Brothers Inc. has acquired Lake Foods, based in Hartwell, Ga. Lake Foods runs a portioning facility for raw, sized, marinated and ready-to-cook chicken products. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We are very enthusiastic about this acquisition,” said Gregory Huff, president and chief executive officer of Brakebush. “The values, expertise, and capabilities of this facility put us in great position to continue to grow our existing customer base and aggressively pursue new business.”

Brakebush Brothers is a family-owned processor of chicken products that has been in operation for almost 100 years. It produces various value-added chicken products for foodservice, chain restaurants and industrial markets.

With the addition of Lake Foods, Brakebush now operates five production facilities in the United States and maintains its headquarters in Westfield, Wis.
