Amer by Eka presents flowing layers for men and women at Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI
Amer by Eka took inspiration from Rajasthan’s Amer Fort on the runway at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India to reimagine architecture as craft-centric ready to wear for Spring/ Summer 2025 collection ‘The Rite of Spring.’

The men’s and women’s collection translated botany and heritage grandeur into tactile, layers garments in hues of blues, whites, greens, and pinks. Inspired by The Rite of Spring Pina Bausch, Eka’s designer Rina Singh presented a thoughtful take on fusion wear.
“Inspired by the majestic Amer Fort, Amer by Eka Spring/ Summer 2025 celebrates the romance of summer through artistry, architecture, and the colours and patterns of the fort,” said Singh in a press release. “Like Pina Bausch’s expressive movements, this collection becomes a rhythmic symphony of renewal- where colours, textures, and silhouettes dance together, bringing ancient crafts to life with contemporary relevance and sustainable intention.”
Fabrics played a central role in the collection, with airy cottons, silks, organzas, and handwoven textiles such as cotton-silk, linen, and gauze. Patterns featured bold stripes, checks, and contrasting selvedges, while floral motifs were hand-drawn and transformed into intricate block prints, using up to 80 wooden blocks per garment. Embroidery and appliqués reflected the mirrored collages and ornate borders of Amer Fort’s gateways while adding a touch of sparkle.
The collection was designed as a poetic exploration of India’s textile heritage, reinterpreted through a modern lens. Running from March 26 to 30, Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI is holding its current edition in Mumbai.
