Afternoon showers and storms in Denver, National Weather Service says

Showers and thunderstorms are expected over the mountains and foothills Saturday afternoon, with a chance for isolated storms in the metro area and on the plains.
Brief but heavy rains from some storms will bring threats of flash flooding, especially over wildfire burn areas, according to the National Weather Service.
In Denver Saturday there’s a 40% chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said. Skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will top out near 75 degrees. Tonight in the city there’s a 30% chance of showers and storms, mainly before 11 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with gradual clearing, and a low temp near 59 degrees.
There’s a 50% chance for afternoon showers and storms Sunday in Denver. The high temperature will be about 84 degrees. Storms will be scattered, periods of heavy rain are possible.
Afternoon showers and storms remain in the Monday Denver forecast, with a 70% chance for precipitation, skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temp will hit about 78 degrees.

A warmer, drier weather period in the region is expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
