“We are excited to open our first ‘My VKC’ store at Tirunelveli and our 16th store in Tamil Nadu,” announced the business in a press release. “With this new venture, Tirunelveli will have contemporary global fashion in its neighbourhoods at affordable prices.”

The My VKC format aims to deliver contemporary global fashion to Tier 2 and 3 cities and rural markets. The Tirunelveli outlet offers a wide range of affordable footwear for men, women, and children, featuring VKC’s key private label brands including VKC Pride, VKC Debon, GoodSpot, Eezy, Ja.May.Ka, and Debongo.

Among these, Debongo has introduced a new sub-brand, Go Planet-D, which the company claims is the world’s first 100% sustainable and circular footwear brand. Announced earlier this month, the brand’s marketing centres around its commitment to environmental responsibility.

Go Planet-D adopts a sustainable and circular business model, enabling used footwear to have resale value. Customers will be able to pre-book pairs at all My VKC stores, including Tirunelveli, starting from May this year by providing their address and foot size.
