Missing endangered child alert issued for 5-year-old boy taken from Aspen

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has issued an alert for a missing 5-year-old child and a man who allegedly threatened to hurt this child.
CBI officials issued the alert at 1:59 a.m. Friday for 5-year-old Alan Moreno and Dagoberto Moreno-Romero, 50, on request from the Aspen Police Department. Police said they believe Moreno was taken by Moreno-Romero around 11:45 p.m. Thursday, CBI officials said. The two may be traveling in a maroon 2007 Chevy Trailblazer with a kayak on top. Previously, police had said they might be traveling in a 2013 Toyota Highlander, with Colorado license plate ASLF48.
“Law enforcement is very concerned for the safety of this child,” police said in an updated alert at 2:28 a.m.
The child was described as Hispanic, 3 feet tall, weighing 40 pounds. The man was described as Hispanic, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 218 pounds. Police said the child’s mother was found with injuries. The relationship between the child, mother, and suspect wasn’t clear. Anybody who sees either of them or has information about their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Aspen Police Department at 970-920-5310.
