Sorta eyes India and international retail expansion
Indian streetwear label Sorta is eyeing brick-and-mortar retail expansion in India to drive sales growth and also has it sights set on the international retail market.

Sorta aims to expand its retail footprint across India while exploring international markets, India Retailing reported. Plans include deeper investments in research and development, product innovation, and consumer insight. The brand also seeks to build a broader community around its ‘hustlewear’ philosophy and streetwear inspired designs.
“We believe that within each individual resides a passionate soul and we aim to promote that in the community,” said brand founder Divyush Gadodia, India Retailing reported. “Each hustler deserves their own share of luxury, and we pass that value on to our consumers.”
Entrepreneur Divyush Gadodia founded Sorta in 2020 following a career in banking and the brand produces ‘hustlewear’ for men and women according to its website. Headquartered in Kolkata, the bootstrapped label has steadily grown a presence in India’s fashion landscape and closed the 2024 financial year with a total of Rs 60 lakh in sales.
The label’s product portfolio includes t-shirts, hoodies, bomber jackets, cargos, bowling shirts, shorts, socks, accessories, and perfumes. The brand aims to differentiate itself through innovation and has developed in-house ‘Praint,’ a proprietary 3D textured print technology. The business also has a focus on hand-crafted artwork.
