BGMEA seeks embassy’s support to increase apparel exports to US

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Faruque Hassan has sought support and cooperation of its embassy in US to promote Bangladesh-US bilateral trade, including increasing apparel exports to the US market. BGMEA representatives recently met the Bangladesh ambassador to the US M Shahidul Islam in Washington.Hassan has also requested the envoy to assist in exploring avenues of attracting investment from US businessmen and non-resident Bangladeshis in textile industries in Bangladesh, particularly in the non-cotton segment, the BGMEA said in a press note.

The BGMEA president thanked ambassador Islam for his support and endeavour in ensuring a positive bilateral trade relation of Bangladesh with the US.
